Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest Far Cry title that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with similar excitement, all while weaving gripping, ideologically themed narratives. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series pulled in two creators whose work have embodied all of those things.
Show Details
Based on Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a fresh setting and group of personalities in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.
“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family always encourages me with their ongoing confidence and support.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can change from season to season, while always examining the essence of humanity through this intricate and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our shared bold, visionary sensibility to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
