Palestinian-American Adolescent Released After 270 Days in Israeli Detention

An Palestinian-American youth who spent 270 days in Israeli detention without being charged was released.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.
American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care right after being freed, family members reported.
According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.
In a statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Right now, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare he needs after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions over several months."
American authorities said it would continue to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts to release him.
The father, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously said his son only confessed regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.
The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
Additionally housing grown detainees, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and homicide.
There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.
