The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, including a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
