“Being 58, which suggests the choice could be mine later on, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? If so, I wouldn't return. But thank God, no such pressure exists. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, he confessed he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip media briefings repeatedly each week or constant media duties weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, however, dining out with the team having a nice chat, that’s nice. Success was frequent thus frequently positive atmosphere around the place. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle in my ear to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments that took the title last term. The team has suffered four in a row in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the idea it could be a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong balanced team. No need for concern about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, along with the consequences on Liverpool. The Portugal international lost his life in a road accident with his brother recently.

“Can you substitute a person like him? It goes beyond his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the squad absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it for poor performances yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Dealing with that individually is not easy. Overwhelming.”
